Non-cooperation strike called off'
AA

The Telangana Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers called off its 16-day-old non-cooperation agitation following detailed talks between its leaders and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday evening.

This development comes as a big relief to the State government which was deeply worried over the impact of the stir on the administration. The agitation had almost paralysed the delivery mechanism at all levels in the 10 districts and subjected people to hardship.

At the negotiation table, the Chief Minister was aided by several Ministers, including A. Ramnarayan Reddy, D. Nagender and D. Prasada Rao, besides officials. According to K. Swamy Goud who led the JAC, said the government also agreed to revive the Legislature Committee, the Cabinet sub-committee and the committee of officials headed by the Chief Secretary to rectify the anomalies faced by Telangana employees in areas of employment etc.
