TDP finalises names for Council seats
The Telugu Desam has finalised the names of its candidates for elections to Legislative Council seats under the MLA quota. TDP president Chandrababu Naidu who held detailed discussions with party senior leaders on Sunday, decided to field former Speaker
K. Pratibha Bharati from coastal Andhra
S.V. Satish Kumar Reddy from Rayalaseema and Gangadhar Goud from Telangana as the party's candidate for the Council elections. In addition, the TDP will back CPI candidate in line with the understanding it has with the Left parties.
The TDP with its strength of 90 members in the Assembly can win three seats comfortably and Mr. Naidu reportedly decided to support a fourth candidate in view of the prevailing uncertainty in Congress.
