JAC delegation to meet Chidambaram
The state government has arranged a meeting of a delegation of the Telangana Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teaches and Workers with Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram at 3 p.m. on March 11 in New Delhi on the JAC's demand for according statehood to Telangana.
This is in fulfilment of an assurance given by the government at the last round of talks which paved way for the calling off the non-cooperation agitation participated by Telangana employees. This information was conveyed to K. Swamy Goud, chairman, TJACETW, by the government in the city on Tuesday.
The JAC has been asked to suggest names of 20 members who would constitute its delegation. The JAC will also urge Mr. Chidambaram to prevail upon the State government to scrap all cases filed against persons during pro-Telangana agitation.
