Governor, CM extend greetings to people

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan urged people of Andhra Pradesh to perform their duties and achieve excellence in their respective fields. In his Independence Day greetings, the Governor recalled the words of Gitacharya Yoga: Karmasu Kousalam' and said everyone should pledge themselves to wipe out tears from every person's eye, making the country's freedom real. The Governor said that after six decades of strong economic growth and social justice, the State needed further impetus in a green environment.
In his message, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah also exhorted people to work to achieve the desired objectives. The Chief Minister recalled how visits to the State by Mahatma Gandhi had infused new enthusiasm among people. Instead of resting on past laurels, it was time to review the progress achieved so far and the gear up to scale greater heights, the Chief Minister said.
