Bye-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha and the Pulivendula Assembly constituencies are likely to be held during May. The Election Commission is expected to announce the schedule for these elections elections in a day or two. These two seats fell vacant following the resignations of MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother YS Vijayalakshmi.

The Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal said, the election process would require 35 days to complete. The CEO's office sent the request to the election commission to fill the vacant seats on December 8th. As per rules, the vacancy created by resignation or death of the member should be filled within six months from the date of resignation. It is most likely that the notification will be issued during April end and elections will take place in May.
