The Baton was welcomed by a gathering of members of sports unions and fans. Cricketer V V S Lakshman and other eminent sportspersons carried the relay rally forward till the last sportsperson, shooter Gagan Narang, hands it over to Chief Minister K Rosaiah. The Baton Relay Rally started off from the Vijayabhaskar Reddy stadium in Yusufguda, and reached the People's Plaza on the Necklace Road. The Baton will be kept at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy to enable the people to have a glimpse. It will leave for Visakhapatnam today afternoon.
