Describing the desecration and damage of statues of renowned Telugu personalities which were installed on the Tank Bund during the Million March last Thursday as ' heinous and utterly condemnable, Telugu Desam Party Politburo member K Yerrannaidu on Sunday alleged that he suspected a conspiracy hatched by Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor Kodandaram to be the reason behind the incident.

The senior TDP leader demanded the immediate arrest and registration of cases against Prof Kodandaram. He also demanded that strict action should be taken against the TPJAC convenor. Mr Yerrannaidu also took serious objection over the comments allegedly made by Prof Kodandaram that he would perform last rites of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
