Election Commission is likely to take time till evening today, to announce the results of the elections held to the Legislative Council from three graduates' constituencies and three teachers' constituencies. Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal said the delay would be due to the fact that ballot papers were used for the polling, in place of electronic voting machines.
He said that, lot of care would have to be taken for counting as the polling was held by means of single transferable vote. The delay would be more in case of constituencies having more number of candidates in fray. The contest in the Srikakulam - Vizianagaram - Visakhapatnam graduates constituency was participated by as many as 19 candidates.
