High alert sounded

The district police has sounded a high alert all along the inter-State borders with Chhattisgarh following a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the Maoists near Chintalnar in Dantewada district, in the volatile neighbouring State on Monday afternoon. Three Koya Commandos are reported to have been killed in the encounter.
Maoists also believed to have suffered heavy causalities in the gun battle. The major encounter in the adjoining State prompted the district police, to intensify the vigil and security across the areas. The police forces are maintaining a strict vigil and high state of operational preparedness constantly.
