Congress MLA from Secunderabad Jayasudha on Tuesday created a mild flutter by refusing to accept the party whip for the Legislative Council elections on Thursday. Ms. Jayasudha, while leaving the House, turned down the request of CLP staff to accept the letter containing the party whip making it mandatory for the Congress MLAs to be present in the Assembly on Wednesday and Thursday.

She said she had a film shooting lined up on Wednesday but she would turn up on Thursday to cast her vote for the party nominees. As the television channels began highlighting the issue, Ms. Jayasudha spoke to Chief Whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and sent her personal assistant to pick up a copy of the letter.
