Raghavulu goes on indefinite fast
* Demands nodal agency to monitor funds allocated under SC and ST sub plans
* Congress will pay a heavy price if it continues to neglect public issues: CPI ( M ) leader
* Politics in State revolving around single issue of bifurcation of State
CPI(M) State Secretary B. V. Raghavulu began an indefinite fast near the Indira Park here on Thursday demanding the constitution of a nodal agency to monitor the use of funds allocated under the SC and ST sub plans and a range of other issues.
CPI (M) leaders, G. Nagaiah and Midiam Babu Rao, simultaneously began a fast. Veteran CPI (M) leader Mallu Swarajyam garlanded Mr. Raghavulu to formally kick-start the indefinite fast. Addressing the gathering, Mr.Raghavulu criticised the government for ignoring burning issues facing the people and focussing more on solving the Congress' internal squabbles.
He lamented that politics in the State were revolving around a single issue - bifurcation of the State - which had given the government the chance to shirk its responsibilities. This was evident from the way the Assembly was being conducted.
