Three TRS MLAs resign

* Cross-voting embarrasses party
Peeved over reports that pointed an accusing finger at them for cross-voting in the Legislative Council elections, three Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs on Saturday evening submitted their resignation letters to party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao. MLA's K. Vidyasagar Rao, E. Ravinder Reddy and Kaveti Sammaiah handed over their letters before the commencement of the crucial polit bureau meeting of the TRS convened to discuss the cross-voting problem.
The marathon meeting held at Mr. Rao's residence started at around 5 p.m. and continued till late in the evening. Three TRS MLAs had defied the party and cross-voted in the Council elections considering that the party nominee polled only 11 votes. The TRS was expected to poll 14 votes, including 11 of its own MLAs, two of the BJP and one of rebel Telugu Desam legislator Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
