Congress, YSR Congress set for showdown

Both Congress and YSR Congress, which left no stone unturned to muster the support of the voters for ensuring victory of their candidates in the Kadapa MLC, have geared up for a showdown in polling slated on Monday and banking on cross-voting that could turn the tables in their favour.
Leaders of the rival parties organised camps in the district and elsewhere with MPTC members, charged each other with trying to purchase voters for a few lakh rupees and lodged complaints and counter-complaints of kidnap of MPTC members. Kadapa district has 623 voters including Congress MLC of Badvel P.M. Kamalamma, 26 councillors of Badvel municipality, 50 ZPTC members and 546 MPTC members.
