Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi has requested Congress president Sonia Gandhi to attend the public meeting scheduled, in April third week marking conclusion of the party's merger process with the Congress. Mr. Chiranjeevi met political secretary to the AICC chief Ahmed Patel besides AICC general secretary in-charge of AP affairs, Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi.

He was asked by them to campaign for the Congress-DMK candidates in Tamil Nadu elections in Telugu-speaking areas. Inclusion of PR legislators in the Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet did not figure in his discussions with the Congress leaders, as it would happen at an appropriate time, he said in response to a question. Mr. Chiranjeevi was accompanied by party seniors Ramachandraiah, who was recently elected an MLC, Vidyadhara Rao and others during his meeting with the Congress leaders.
