The Congress camp in Sirpur Assembly Constituency seems to be perturbed over the developments, following the alleged cross-voting by Telangana Rashtra Samiti legislator Kaveti Sammaiah. The unit fears the power equation may change with the MLA moving closer to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and AP Congress Committee president D. Srinivas, as is rumoured.

Congress leaders fear the power equation locally will change to their detriment if Sammaiah were to stay put for the remainder of his tenure. They were wary as they believed the suspended MLA has been promised due importance by the Chief Minister and Mr. Srinivas while apportioning developmental works in his constituency.
