Farmers hurt in lathicharge
Four farmers were injured when the police resorted to a mild lathicharge to disperse agitating farmers demanding supply of fertilizer at Rangampet in Medak district on Sunday. Irate farmers from various villages arrived at Rangampet mandal headquarters and staged a protest demanding supply of urea.
With the farmers reluctant to disperse, the police resorted to a mild lathicharge following which the farmers staged a rasta roko on Sangareddy - Medak main road. Circle Inspector Vijayakumar and PACS chairman Prabhakar held discussions with farmers and later spoke with Minister for Minor Irrigation V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy who assured to supply of urea. With this the farmers pacified and withdrew their agitation.
