Four persons sustained injuries when two groups pelted stones on each other near Golden Function Hall on Khilla Road under fifth town police station limits on Sunday evening. Tension was defused within 15 minutes of the incident as the police promptly plunged into action and brought the situation under control. Superintendent of Police K. Venkateswar Rao visited the spot and observed the law and order conditions.

A picket was posted to avoid any untoward incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Raghava Reddy.The trouble began as elders from two communal groups were involved when their wards fought while playing marbles in the street. The injured were admitted to the district headquarter hospital where they were called on by Mayor D. Sanjay and MLA Y. Lakshminarayana.
