Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy resigned to his MLA seat in the city on Friday. Mr. Srinivas Reddy requested the deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy to provide him with an opportunity to explain the reasons for his resignation in the assembly. Earlier in the morning, Srinivas Reddy paid tributes at the Gun Park in Hyderabad.

Mr. Reddy alleged that the Telugu Desam Party which issued a pro-Telangana statement before the 2009 assembly elections changed its stand. Srinivas Reddy promised that he will stand by the people of Telangana and will strive for the formation of a separate Telangana state. The MLA also demanded for the tabling of Telangana bill in the Parliament.
