Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday, demanded the State Government to set up Joint Legislature Committee to go into the allotment of land to industries, projects and special economic zones as a debate in the Assembly will not bring out the culprits.

Addressing a press conference, he urged the Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy to convene an all-party meeting to discuss all issues related to land allotment, including a JLC, so that setting up the committee is expedited at the earliest. He further wanted the government to come out with a clear policy on thermal power projects.

Dattatreya noted that the people of the coastal districts have many apprehensions over the mushrooming of thermal projects, much beyond the future requirements of power in the State.
