The Telugu Desam Party has described the State government's announcement on the constitution of a House Committee to probe into allotment of lands to Special Economic Zones as people's victory.

Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday accused the State government of creating neo-landlords out of corporate houses and capitalists by snatching lands from the poor at low cost and handing them over to projects, industries and special economic zones enabling them make huge earnings.

Speaking as part of the debate on the land allotment issue in the Assembly, he reiterated his party's demand for setting up a Joint Legislature Committee to go into the issue and asked the government to include the lands allotted during the TDP regime too in the terms of reference of such a committee.
