On the last day of its budget session, the state assembly on Tuesday passed a Bill that will enhance the monthly salaries of MLAs and MLCs to Rs.12, 000. Apart from the salary, members of both houses will get a constituency allowance of Rs.83,000 and Railway travel coupons worth Rs.70, 000 each every month.

The Bill also provides for gift coupons from the APSRTC, APIIC, Housing Department and Tribal Cooperative Society every month to avail various facilities. Former MLAs and MLCs will get a monthly pension of Rs.15, 000 every month.
