* Annavaram Devasthanam to honour Godavari river on the occasion

Annavaram Devasthanam, the adobe fete of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami temple management, will be celebrating the Telugu New Year's Day honouring to the Godavari, which is the lifeline to lakhs of farmers in East and West Godavari districts. Executive Officer of Annavaram Ramachandra Mohan has planned the programme for 'Kharanama Ugadi Day' at Pushkara ghat.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Mr. Ramachandra Mohan said that keeping in mind the spiritual and cultural ethos of the Godavari, they had planned different programmes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. He said Sri Satyanarayana Swami Pooja followed by Panchanga Sravanam, Godavari Harathi, spiritual discourses and other cultural events would be held. He said the renovation works would be completed in eight months with an expenditure of Rs.4 crore.
