Minister for Transport Botcha Satyanarayana has announced introduction of 'Vanita Family Card' from Ugadi for below poverty line families in the State, which will enable them travel in RTC buses at concessional fares. The scheme, to be implemented from 14th this month, will benefit about 1.8 crore white cardholders.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Mr. Satyanarayana said that families with white ration cards can purchase the card for Rs. 100 to avail of 10 per cent concession for all the members, listed in the ration card on all passenger and express services of the corporation for a period of two years. The card would be issued at all the RTC depots on submission of photocopy of white ration card from Ugadi.
