Teachers get a better deal
Rosaiah clears pending demands, including regularisation Several long pending demands of teachers' unions, including regularisation of services of teachers working in AP Residential Education Society, have been accepted by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah . Eight teacher MLCs of State Teachers' Union and supporters of United Teachers Federation - held discussions with the Chief Minister at his chambers on Monday focusing on the main demands of the teachers pending for the last two years.
Mr. Rosaiah directed the Finance Department to issue a GO regarding regularisation of 660 AP Residential Education Society teachers and this would cost the exchequer Rs.10 crore annually. The Chief Minister also agreed in principle to upgrade language pundits in all the high schools to school assistant grade, sanction two notional increments to aided, tribal welfare and municipal teachers to recognise their apprenticeship service.
