Government eats its words, Hazare to break fast today

Anna Hazare is expected to break his fast today, after the government relented and announced that, it would issue an order notifying a joint committee of the government and civil society to draft a stronger Lokpal Bill. As per the agreement reached after four rounds of talks, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will chair the committee while former Union Law Minister Shanti Bhushan will be its co-chairman.
The other members of the 10-member committee includes Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily, Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal, Home Minister P Chidambaram. The government has decided to set up a committee to write a stringent new anti-public corruption law.
