Telugu Desam MP Nandamuri Harikrishna has created a stir in the party by announcing his intentions to launch an uncompromising struggle against corruption. Announcing that he would shortly go to the people with a campaign against corruption in line with the ideals cherished by TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, he sought their blessings for the same.

Mr. Harikrishna extended his full support to the cause of social activist Anna Hazare, but did not participate in the rally organised by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. Interestingly, the copies of the press release were circulated by his supporters during Mr. Naidu's rally. Mr. Harikrishna recalled steps taken by late NTR such as creation of a post of Dharma Mahamatra and the key role he played in the formation of the institutions of Lok Ayukta and Upa Lok Ayukta.
