Mahabubnagar district bandh call given by TRS and supported by BJP, TDP, CPI and other organisations was total and went off peacefully on Monday. The bandh call was given in protest against the damage to the one of the shutters of Rajolibanda Diversion scheme project by some unidentified miscreants on Friday night. The agitators demanded the government to arrest the culprits and book criminal cases against them.

They also demanded to take up repair works to the damaged shutter immediately. Following the damage to the shutter the RDS ayacut in Mahabubnagar district will suffer large. APSRTC did not operate their services from eight depots in the district. According to reports the bandh was observed in all the mandal headquarters in the district. Rasta rokos and dharnas were organised at several towns.
