BJP asks State to ensure paddy procurement

Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya has demanded the State government, to allocate Rs.2,000 crore to procure paddy from farmers. And also asked to allow export of 25 lakh tonnes and lift inter-State controls as a record 90 lakh tonnes which was expected to arrive in the market.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he said the proposed 4,000 purchase centres would be totally inadequate and urged the government, to create a mechanism to ensure that the entire paddy was lifted without imposing any conditions.
Accusing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of adopting a negligent attitude on the issue, he demanded that an all-party meeting be convened immediately to discuss about procurement and related matters.
