KCR performs yagam for Telangana State
Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday morning undertook a three-day 'shata chandi yagam' for separate Telangana and world peace at a farm house near Moinabad on the city outskirts. The yagam is supervised by 64 vedic pandits led by Vavilala Damodara Sarma of Karimnagar.
It will end with poornahuti' on Saturday which would be attended by a larger number of pandits. Mr. Rao participated in the ceremonies with his family members for nearly nine hours in two sessions throughout the day. Speaking to media persons, the TRS chief said the yagam was aimed to rid disturbed minds of people of Telangana.
It was possible only by Statehood which was inevitable. He vowed to perform sahasra chandi yagam' in a much bigger way when the Statehood was achieved.
