Vundavalli accused of betraying YSR's trust
YSR Congress leader Ambati Rambabu lambasted Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar on Thursday alleging that he betrayed the trust reposed on him by former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and invited Mr. Rambabu for a debate.
Reacting to Mr. Kumar's assertion that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy quit Congress on knowing that the high command planned to make his uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy as Chief Minister in 2004, he maintained at a news conference here that the high command never indicated to YSR that he would become Chief Minister before the 2004 polls.
Mr. Rambabu ridiculed the Congress leaders' recent claims that YSR was dearer to them and asked why the APCC failed to disburse Rs. 1 lakh ex gratia announced by it to kin of persons who died after YSR's demise.
