AP Transco told to ensure seven-hour supply to farm sector and give priority to water schemes

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked the district Collectors to start implementing contingency plans, to tackle the shortage of drinking water and power besides seasonal diseases. Interacting with the Collectors through a video conference on Friday, he reminded them of the recent release of Rs. 52 crore and Rs. 42 crore for rural and urban areas, respectively, as the first instalment to meet contingencies. The money should be used to revive defunct and dry borewells and tankers deployed where required.
