Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday said ten thousand new Anganwadi centres would be opened shortly. He also asked the district Collectors for effective implementation of the Integrated Child Development Scheme. He wanted them to review the progress and implementation of the scheme regularly.

He said, they should facilitate convergence between Rural Development, Health and WCD&SC Departments. In all, 91,307 Anganwadi centres were sanctioned in the State and 82,565 main and mini Anganwadi centres are operational at present.
