Former TTD Chairman threatens to go on fast
Former Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams B. Karunakar Reddy has threatened to go on a fast unto death if the Government failed to order a CBI probe into the allegations made against him by some political parties about corruption in the affairs of the temple. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said he had worked as the TTD Chairman for two years from 2006 and had never indulged in any corrupt activities nor resorted to any type of irregularities.
He dared them to prove a single charge against him and lamented that a systematic campaign had been launched against YSR supporters by the opposition as well as some Congress leaders. He said the opposition parties were trying to target him because he was a YSR loyalist. Mr. Karunakar Reddy said for the last 10 days an attempt was being made to show him in poor light. Denying all allegations, he said he was very much a devout Hindu and not an atheist, as was being made out.
