Good Friday was observed in city and state

Good Friday was being observed by Christians across the country and abroad on Friday. With fasts and daylong prayer services in churches the day marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on this day over 2,000 years ago. Special services were organised in churches in the city and elsewhere in the state to observe the Good Friday.
Speaking to our correspondent, Fr Gnana Reddy said they have extensive prayer services in the church to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, which they believe brought salvation to all. People fast on this day while some observed strict dietary restrictions for past 50 days. The fasting would end on Sunday when the community celebrates Easter - marking the resurrection of Christ.
