Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday demanded timely water supply to paddy nurseries and save crops under the ayacut serviced by the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme. In a letter to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, the TDP chief sought his intervention on the incident pertaining to damage wrought to one RDS shutter and demanded stern action against those responsible for the attack.

In another statement, senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy demanded action against the RDO and the Sub-Inspector of Adoni for instigating the farmers of the area to cut the shutters of the project with gas cutters. Telugu Desam has also decided to petition Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee demanding census for Backward Classes.
