The Telangana Joint Action Committee has firmed up plans to resume the separate Telangana agitation in May after a lull of more than a month due to examinations and elections in five States. Joint Action Committee chairman M. Kodandaram told in a press conference on Thursday, that the Joint Action Committee has tentatively scheduled a meeting of the general body on May 5 to discuss the form of agitation.

He said the Joint Action Committee would not allow the written examination for recruitment of sub-inspectors of police in Telangana as part of the next phase of agitation. However, no decision was taken on the written examination for Group I services of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.
