Actor-turned-politician Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha quit Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's party, the YSR Congress Party on friday. Speaking at a press conference and later during an interview with TV channel Rajasekhar and Jeevitha said that they had joined Jagan's party only because they thought that Jagan was really being discriminated against by the Congress High Command.

Rajasekhar and Jeevitha were among the first to quit the Congress party and pledge their support to Jaganmohan Reddy when he withdrew from the Congress to set up his own political party. The couple said they were sidelined in Jagan's party and were not recognized for their efforts.
