Akbaruddin Owaisi, the MIM Floor leader in the assembly who was shot and attacked with knives at Barkas on Saturday, showed visible signs of improving health on Tuesday and has been weaned off the ventilator.

The 38-year-old legislator who was shifted to Care Hospital from Owaisi Hospital after providing initial surgical attention and prolonged intra-abdominal surgery for the injuries, was conscious and communicative in the city, Medical Director Dr Rampapa Rao said in a medical report released on Tuesday. Meanwhile the police have identified the accused involved in the attack of the Akbaruddin.
