State Government allows export of rice

In a decision aimed at facilitating faster procurement of paddy from farmers at minimum support price, the government has decided to allow export of boiled and raw rice outside the State. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who held a meeting to review the Rabi paddy procurement with officials of all departments concerned on Wednesday, said that the decision was taken to benefit the farmers bringing rabi crop to the market and to enable them get the MSP from millers. Now such stipulations were removed, but the export of raw rice would be allowed for two months with periodic monitoring to observe its impact on the market price.
