10,000 cops to keep watch in Kadapa

Rayalaseema region Inspector General of Police, Mr Santosh Mehra, on Thursday said that a large number of paramilitary forces have been deployed in Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in view of the ensuing by-elections in Kadapa and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies.
Speaking to newspersons, Mr Mehra said that paramilitary forces have been stationed in the sensitive and problematic areas in the constituencies. A total of 114 DSPs, 110 Circle-Inspectors, 500 Sub-Inspectors and 4,000 Constables are being deployed on the polling day, May 8, to ensure a free and fair poll, The official has warned of stringent action against unauthorised persons entering the polling stations and those creating any sort of disturbances.
