Officials seize Rs. 1.5 crore on a single day in Kadapa
A day before the close of campaigning, a huge amount of Rs 1.51 crore was seized in three different incidents in Kadapa Parliamentary constituency on Thursday. This was the highest amount seized on a single day in connection with the by-elections and the total amount recovered so far reached nearly Rs. 4 crore.
In the first incident, the officials, told reporters that Rs 37 lakh in 74 bundles of Rs 500 denomination was seized from a Maruti car during routine checking of vehicles at Kadapa in the early hours of Thursday. As the three occupants of the car failed to show any documents about the cash they possessed, it was seized.
