Polling has begun in Kadapa and Pulivendula

Polling has begun in Kadapa and Pulivendula at 8am this morning and will close at 5pm, although those standing in queue after 5 p.m will be issued slips to enable them to cast their votes. Voters in the district are thronging to the polling booths to cast their votes.

A total of 13.28 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 1,512 polling stations in Kadapa where 42 candidates are in the fray, including Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress, M. V. Mysoora Reddy of TDP and MY Health Minister D. L. Ravindra Reddy of Congress.

For the first time, web cameras are being installed in 1,169 polling stations identified as hypersensitive, sensitive or troublesome, to facilitate senior election officials to closely monitor the proceedings in polling booths.
