The minibuses that were launched by the APSRTC about a month ago have not been received well and are proving to be a burden on the corporation. The minibuses, complying with Euro-3 norms, were launched in the city on the Telugu New Year by the CM.

The RTC had expected to make profits by plying these minibuses and cover up the losses that were incurred in the previous year. But lack of proper survey of routes and the hurried manner in which the buses were launched have resulted in poor response. Currently, for every kilometre, minibuses incur a loss of nearly Rs 12.
