The arrival of mangoes to the markets in the city has been delayed this time round owing to initial crop loss. The quantity of mango being unloaded at the Fruit Market, was quite discouraging till a few days ago, though it is steadily improving.

The arrivals, which were virtually non-existent in March, have improved a little in April and surpassed previous year's quantities, only during the current month. According to the sources, due to sudden climate change and untimely rains in January, the initial inflorescence had dropped off, which lead to delay in arrivals.
