Praja Rajyam Party MLA from Giddaluru in Prakasam district, Anna Rambabu submitted his resignation from his post expressing "disillusionment" over non-allocation of funds, for the Veligonda major irrigation project in his constituency. According to party sources, Rambabu sent his resignation to PRP chief Chiranjeevi at the late night.

Though the MLA was said to have forwarded his resignation to officiating Speaker Nadendla Manohar as well, it could not be confirmed immediately. PRP sources said Rambabu had been unhappy for sometime now as funds were not released for the Veligonda project, resulting in stalling of works.
