Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has demanded that the government officially celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on September 17. Addressing a meeting on the occasion of admission into TRS of a large number of grassroots level political activists from Warangal and Adilabad districts, Mr. Rao said on Thursday that citizens all over the world enjoyed the right to celebrate the freedom of their homeland. But, people of Telangana alone were unlucky on this front. The Independence Day on August 15 was not a matter of celebration for them. On the contrary, they got their real independence from the clutches of Nizam's rule on September 17, he said.He asked Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu whether the latter supported the demand since he had, of late, showed a lot of affection for Telangana.
