Breakthrough in shootout case
The police made a breakthrough in the case of a shootout in which a history-sheeter Piboyina Ravi of Tadepalligudem was killed on the premises of the district court in the city within a span of two days. Mystery shrouding the killing was resolved with the arrest of an accused, Rayavarapu Radhakrishna, a victim's close follower.According to M.M. Bhagavat, DIG of Police, Eluru range, Radhakrishna was suspected to have shot him down with a pistol which the victim himself had procured from Bihar for extortions. The DIG said Radhakrishna was suspected to have liquidated Ravi for the latter's failure to meet his financial needs. The police zeroed in on Radhakrishna with one of the Ravi's associates and co-accused in a murder case happened to saw him firing at the victim in the court.
