Insult to National Anthem in Assembly

An awful insult occurred to the National Anthem in the state Assembly today. Soon after the House assembled for the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker in the earlier hours of the day, customarily the National Anthem was played.
Instead of standing up to honour the Anthem song, all the members including Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu remainded in their seats. Meanwhile when Protem-Speaker JC Diwakar Reddy reminded them, all stood up in a hurry. This is the way our elected representatives behave in the Assembly.

Don't post rude or nasty comments. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. |
