Kanna Stranded In Himalayas

Congress MLA and Minister for Transport Kanna Lakshminarayana is stranded in the Himalayas, while on the formidable Kailash Manasarovar yatra. The minister and his co-passengers, about 15 of them, are stuck in a place called Simikot in the northwest of Nepal, near China border.
Simikot is inaccessible by helicopter or even by road and the rescue operations have been put off till tomorrow morning. Southern Travels, the organizer of the tour package, says passengers are safe, and Chief Secretary S V Prasad has reportedly spoken to Kanna Lakshminarayana.
