The final rites to the mortal remains of Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar were performed today at the Padmaksh-amma Gutta at Warangal, as thousands of pro-Telangana activists accompanied the funeral procession and bid a tearful farewell to the man who lived his life providing inspiration to the Telangana people.

Jayashankars son Brahmam lit the funeral fire amid loud pro-Telangana slogans that rented the air. The darling of the Telangana masses died of throat cancer at his house at Hanumakonda on Tuesday.
